From Faith to Maturity

What will the Christian life look like as it begins to matures?

From Faith
To Maturity
Faith trusts Jesus as Savior.  Maturity follows Jesus as Lord.
Faith prays over dinner.  Maturity prays without ceasing.
Faith sees a few things around the church that aren't getting done.  Maturity sees things around the church that will get done through personal involvement and commitment.
Faith is humble before God.  Maturity is humble before others.
Maturity understands how vanity hurts others because it judges and ridicules.
Maturity understands how humility is true beauty because it blesses others, it honors their worth.
Faith loves God.  Maturity desires His holiness.
Maturity can often be found in prayer asking God to reveal areas of sin that He wants to remove.
Faith asks God to open doors.  Maturity steps through doors when He opens them.
Faith wonders "Does It Glorify God?"  Maturity knows.
Faith dislikes sin. Maturity believes there is an escape from temptation.
Maturity hungers and thirsts for righteousness.
Faith likes the blessings of God.  Maturity expects the blessings of God and looks for them in every arena of life.
Faith knows that in any group there will be people growing at different rates. Maturity knows who should be leading (and who should be following) by the way they follow Christ.
Faith has pretty tight household budget, but still manages to put something in the plate each week.  Maturity believes all funds are God's funds.
Maturity is disciplined in giving the tithe and joyfully gives more when possible.
Faith trusts in the Bible. Maturity reads it daily.
Maturity meditates and memorizes Scripture.
Faith learns from people who have studied the Bible.  Maturity studies the Word of God to teach others.
Faith enjoys gathering with God's family.  Maturity makes church attendance and involvement a priority.
Maturity finds way to improve the church.
Maturity doesn't sleep in.
Faith enjoys fellowship.  Maturity creates opportunities for fellowship.
Faith values the ministry of other church members.  Maturity purposefully notices the ministry of others, prays for them, and directly encourages them in their efforts.
Faith prays for the salvation of the lost.  Maturity speaks its faith in the workplace and in the neighborhood.
Faith wishes all people well.  Maturity rejects gossip and admonishes gossipers.
Faith values the Lord's Supper. Maturity approaches it with a sober spirit, expecting communion with God not a ritual of the church.
Faith appreciates, perhaps even loves the pastoral staff of the church.  Maturity understands the pastors' mission - to lead people to faith and maturity in Christ - and prays for them, and asks them "where can I help in this great mission for God."
