Christians have a blessed burden to Defend the Faith - understand what they believe in such a way that they can articulate their beliefs and defend them.

Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 1:3 NAS)

All this time you have been thinking that we are defending ourselves to you. Actually, it is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ; and all for your upbuilding, beloved. (II Corinthians 12:19 NAS)

It is a grave mistake, which many have made, to relegate the teaching and defense of Christian truths to the paid pastoral staff. Not only is there certainty, but their is joy in knowing what one believes and why. Christians, even good ol' American Christians, live in a diverse culture where Christianity is no longer the dominant religious voice. Immigrants pour their faith systems into our national religious pond which itself has been drastically changed by "variations" upon the Christian theme.

I mean to neither denegrate nor ridicule adherents to any faith system by what is said in these papers. I respect every person's right to believe as they wish. I do, however, fully intend to courageously point out the inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and outright lies of these systems. Christianity, itself, celebrates its adherents who carefully scrutinize their faith (see Acts 17.10-11). I hope that no believer in another faith system will hesistate to rigorously evaluate their own system. We must be careful how we use, and embrace, the term "blind faith."

Here is a (growing) set of papers that will equip all Christians in the defense of their faith:

Is There Only One Way to God?

Western ("Christian") Cults
